High-Quality Tempered Glass Manufacturers & Supplier

Leading the Global Power Grid with Advanced Toughened Glass Insulator Solutions. Engineered for Excellence, Built for Reliability.

The Critical Role of Tempered Glass in Modern HV Transmission

As the global energy landscape transitions toward smart grids and ultra-high voltage (UHV) transmission, the demand for high-reliability insulation components has never been higher. As a premier tempered glass manufacturer and supplier, Jiangxi QOCI Electric Co. Ltd stands at the forefront of this technological evolution. Toughened glass insulators offer a unique combination of mechanical strength and electrical dielectric properties that surpass traditional materials in extreme environments.

Our commitment to "Information Gain" involves providing procurement officers and electrical engineers with deep technical insights. Unlike porcelain, toughened glass provides a "zero-maintenance" self-shattering characteristic. In the event of an electrical failure or mechanical overload, the glass shell shatters into small, non-hazardous particles, making faulty units instantly visible from the ground—eliminating the need for expensive airborne infrared inspections.

China Factory Supply Chain Advantages

Jiangxi province is globally recognized as the "Insulator Capital," providing a robust cluster of raw materials and logistics excellence. By leveraging Jiangxi QOCI’s strategic location, we offer:

  • Raw Material Control: Direct access to high-purity silica and metallurgical components for caps and pins.
  • Total Oxygen Kiln Technology: Our factory utilizes advanced oxygen-fired furnaces that reduce nitrogen oxide emissions while ensuring a more homogeneous glass melt, critical for high-voltage dielectric stability.
  • Scalability: With an annual output of 39,000 tons, we support massive infrastructure projects across Africa, South America, and Southeast Asia without lead-time bottlenecks.

Global Enterprises: Meeting Stringent Procurement Needs

Global utility companies like State Grid, Enel, and various national electricity boards require more than just a product; they require compliance and longevity. Our insulators are tested to meet and exceed:

  • IEC 60305: Standardized characteristics for string insulator units.
  • ANSI C29.2: Ensuring compatibility with North American grid specifications.
  • ISO 9001/14001: Validating our environmental and quality management rigor.

INNOVATION & DEDICATION

Jiangxi QOCI Electric Co. Ltd was founded in Dec. 2002, with registered capital of 508 million Yuan. Located in the Industrial Park, Luxi County, Jiangxi Province, our facility covers over 100 mu (70,000 m²).

We serve the world-class power grid with dedication, actively participating in the construction of green energy infrastructure globally. Responsibility is our guarantee of quality, ensuring the absolute safety of power transmission networks.

Localization & Application Scenarios

Coastal & High Salinity

Our Anti-Pollution (Fog) profiles feature deep under-ribs that prevent salt-spray accumulation, ensuring grid stability in coastal regions.

Desert & Arid Climates

Aerodynamic (Open) profiles utilize wind-flow to self-clean sand and dust, preventing leakage currents in desert environments.

Heavy Industrial Zones

RTV Silicone Coated Glass provides a hydrophobic surface that repels industrial pollutants and prevents flashovers in smog-heavy areas.

UHV/EHV Projects

Our Triple-Shed and Double-Shed designs provide the extended creepage distance required for 500kV, 800kV, and 1000kV lines.

Detailed Engineering Specs

Silicone-coated Glass Insulators (RTV)

Silicone-coated insulators offer an excellent alternative which guarantees optimum performance for high voltage overhead lines in areas with heavy pollution. They minimise leaking currents and thereby reduce operation and maintenance costs. The product used to coat the insulators is Room Temperature Vulcanization (RTV) silicone which contains mineral fillers embedded in the silicone itself. This silicone increases the hydrophobic nature of the insulator’s surface, thereby improving its performance in polluted areas.

Standard & Anti-fog Profiles

The characteristic of the standard profile is that the leakage distance is higher than the value indicated for standard insulators in IEC 60305. The fog type profile is characterized by long and widely-spaced under-ribs so as to avoid arc bridging between adjacent ribs, particularly effective in coastal areas (Salt fog).

Q&A: Everything You Need to Know About Toughened Glass Insulators

1. Why choose tempered glass over porcelain insulators? +
Tempered glass offers superior mechanical reliability and "visual inspection" benefits. If a glass insulator fails, the shell shatters, making it obvious from the ground. Porcelain can have internal cracks that are invisible, leading to catastrophic line failure.
2. How does RTV coating enhance glass insulator performance? +
RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanization) silicone coating adds hydrophobicity to the glass surface. This prevents a continuous water film from forming, which drastically reduces leakage current and prevents flashovers in highly polluted environments.
3. What is the typical lifespan of a QOCI glass insulator? +
Our toughened glass insulators are designed for a 40-50 year service life under normal operating conditions, thanks to our high-purity glass melt and corrosion-resistant hot-dip galvanized hardware.
4. Can QOCI produce insulators to specific ANSI standards for the USA market? +
Yes, we manufacture a wide range of ANSI-compliant insulators including ANSI 52-3, 53-5, 55-5, and 57-3 series, catering to utility requirements across North and South America.
